Interesting links worth your time: light meters, Afghanistan, and a coupon

    Friday, November 6th, 2009

Well, we’ve made it to the end of another week and I still have photography projects left unfinished. Seems to resemble every other week unfortunately. But, that’s life. I did, however, have time to look for around for some information and inspiration on some of my favorite photo blogs.

I mentioned a couple of days ago that I recently got my light meter in the mail, and wouldn’t you know it, Wizwow (Don Giannatti) put up a very helpful article on light meters at his site, Lighting Essentials. I know there are many photographers who swear by NOT using a light meter, but after having limited use with it I think I’m a converted user. If you’re interested, give it a read.

Another article you might want to check out is a pseudo-photo diary on the situation in Afghanistan that’s up at the Big Picture blog. There’s a few graphic images there (they give you the option not to see those, though) but there are some really telling photos as well as some amazing captures. Regardless of your position on the war, as a photographer, it’s quality stuff. If you’ve got a few minutes, take a look.

And one small reminder- if you plan on buying a G11, that Best Buy coupon I mentioned expires at the end of this month, so don’t be a slacker and make sure to save yourself around $50.

    Have a good weekend.

I’m currently working on an interview I’ve done recently with a homeless person that is compelling enough that you’ll want to read.

Like it, love it, or hate it: Barack Obama is our next President. It’s time for Christians to look to the Bible.

Hey everyone. I’ve got a couple of minutes (actually I don’t but I’ll make them) to throw up a few pictures for everyone’s viewing pleasure. These are some pictures we were able to snap during our op when we got into all those firefights. Unfortunately we don’t have any during the fighting [...]

    Wednesday, August 9th, 2006

A few of the pictures I sent on my recent email didn’t come up for some people, AOL problems unfortunately. So, just for good measure I’ll throw em up here so any who wants to can see them.

    Testing a picture

    Friday, June 30th, 2006

Hello everyone. This is just a quickie post for me to test some new computers ability to put these pictures on the site. Hopefully it works since the others don’t.
From what I can see it does. Excellent. First this, then my plans for world domination. It’s all coming full circle [...]

    Back up and running!

    Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Hello everyone, long time with no posts. I can get the posting option to work on my blog here but I’m still trying to iron putting up pictures. Hopefully I can find a way to do it.
Well, life has had its shares of up and downs, more downs that’s for sure, but, [...]
