It was doomed to happen eventually: I’ve broken down and finally bought an Apple computer. As much as I’ve told myself it would never happen, the time simply couldn’t have better for me to jump on the Apple train. Recently, my HP laptop of a little over 2 1/2 years died on me, and since “I was stupid” and bought the Best Buy protection plan, they gave me $1000 towards another latop (after much back and forth and negotiating). I’ll say this, I’ve bought two laptops from Best Buy, both of them died within the 3 year warranty period, and both times I was given $1000 or more toward another laptop. Not bad at all considering the plan only cost $250. But that’s another story.
Anyways, my wife and I have been talking about getting a Mac but never getting too serious about it. That is, until we had an extra $1000 to put toward it that WASN’T coming out of our pockets. So we figured if we were ever going to do it, this was going to be the time. After a couple of trips to the Apple store, I had my 15″ MacBook Pro all picked out (we sold the Best Buy giftcard for a very small loss) and once we slept on it for a few days, we welcomed our new friend into our home. Hopefully he’ll stay longer than the last two laptops.
