(For some reason, the smaller one makes it look darker than it actually is)
I asked my barber to take her picture, but she declined. So after I went to a youth meeting for the senior guys, I asked one of them, a buddy name Vincent Cheng (who we call Vinnie), if he wouldn’t mind taking an impromptu picture in front of his car. He said he had a free 20 minutes or so, so we get set up a quick shot against the sunset.
There’s 3 SB800s in this shot: 1 on camera with a Lumiquest Softbox III attached to act as a fill light; 1 camera left, bare, with a grid as the key light; and 1 on the ground trying to skirt the side of the car (I should have actually READ ‘Light, Science, and Magic’ instead of buying it and sticking it way down on the ‘books to be read’ stack because his car was black and I couldn’t get anything out of it). I used CLS to control all three SB800s, with the on camera SB acting as the Commander.
