Cue the sad face UPDATE: No more sad face

I’ve been waiting for some time to find out from the military if I would be deploying to Iraq again and I still haven’t found out for a few reasons that will remain undisclosed.  Unfortunately, my unit IS deploying and until I found out otherwise I’ll be meeting up with them to train in case I do go.  I’m excited to lead my guys overseas but sad because that means leaving Sarah and my life behind.  I’ve given the situation over to God and I realize he’ll put me where he wants me, but it’s still a little hard.

With that said, that means that the main focus of this blog will turn from strictly photography to being about photography and serving as my main point of contact for family, friends, and associates.  Please don’t mind all the extra chatter if you’re here just to read about photography.  Maybe you’ll find my life in the Marines a little interesting?  We’ll see.

But, your prayers would be welcomed and I’m glad to have the opportunity to now reach other people that I’ll be serving with.  But who knows, I might come back in a few days and say it’s all a no go.  It’s all up in the air.  But thanks for your support and keep coming back, I’m sure I’ll have some good stories and definitely some good photos.

UPDATE: well, it seems that was short lived.  Not an hour after I left work on Thursday I got word that I would actually not be deploying to Iraq.  The news came at the 11th hour, but news is news.  So, fret not, I’ll be around pending a disaster for a while to come.
