I came home Sunday afternoon after I got back from church and eating lunch and I plopped myself right down on the couch. Kickoff for the Jags game wasn’t until 4:05, so I had nothing better to do for two hours while waiting so I turned on the Cowboys/Bucs game and decided to relax and watch that. Now, as far as busy weeks go, last week was up there. I’ve been putting in some extra hours at work and school has its needs, so a little breather was just what I wanted. Then for some reason, I felt guilty.
I’ve posted a few times about how I have no time to take pictures and here I sit watching a game for which I have no vested interest. So, I decided to get offf my butt and snap some photos. I didn’t want to do anything too laborious so I decided to take a simple object right in front of me, the remote, and just make it look interesting somehow. So I grabbed a flash and put it on a lightstand and put a silver umbrella on the whole thing to shoot into and voila! Now we’re getting somewhere.
So, after the success of this little event (I’m defining success as anything that shows up in the picture at this point, it’s a start, right?) I’ve decided that I’m going to try and take a photo a day, or hopefully at the very least one every two or three days. I’m sure some days will be busy and I’ll get nothing, but, at the very least I’m getting my gear out and using it and learning, and that’s progress, right?
So, I’m going to start tagging these photos as “Daily Photos”, so you can click on the link for it in the upper right side bar along with all of the other tags. That way you can track my progress. If anyone else is interested in participating in this little endeavor with me, send me a link to wherever you post your photo and each day I’ll pick one to highlight.
