Picture time

Well, the place we’re at now is pretty well set up. We’ve got internet, big screen TVs, games, a gym, an outstanding chow hall (the whole ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach’ is especially true for Marines) and a small movie theatre I have yet to check out. Unfortunately we’ll be leaving this place, plus the Marine Corps is shutting this camp down soon anyways. Pitty. But, here are some photos from my journey thus far:

This a view from the terminal in Ireland. This is all we could see from the little place we were restricted to. It would have been nice to see the rolling hills and such. Side note: I would never want to marry someone with an Irish accent, it’s just not sweet enough. British, perhap, but, after talking with them, not Irish.

This is us waiting in line for coffee. You’d think being Ireland would warrant genuine Irish coffee. Nope, all they had was black coffee and beer, of which no one was allowed to partake in anyway. However, I will note that the coffee was good.

This is inside the tent we’re staying in now. It’s cozy enough for comfort. Our AC was out for part of the day but luckily it only got up to 92 today.

This is an outside view of some of the tents on our “pad” as they call it. They have a real nice set up here. It’s not the Hilton, but, it’s definitely functional enough. I’d enjoy being here.

This is my and two guys from my platoon, Hayes in the middle and Parker on the right.

There you have it, some visual stimulation from 6000 miles away. I’ll put up another message in the next day, time permitting.

Not to worry mate!! From here on in it will be nothing but heat and sand…find and save me a camel spider if you can…big as a cat. Speaking of cats..mama roo and baby roo use the top of your car as a watch post…keeping it and the yard safe. Save your money, don’t volunteer, and write when you can! Time will go buy, and you will be back with those who love you! Stay safe…Need anything just yell!
