Hello again everyone. The internet has been real screwy here lately that I’m using now so I haven’t been able to post anything. But, here I am, posting something to you all.
T-3 (that means ‘T (time)’ minus 3, incase anyone didn’t know) days until we’re out of the country. It hasn’t hit me yet, not sure if it ever will though. It’s exciting to know I”m going somewhere completely foreign and new, not scarey (sp?) in any way. We’ll see though once we hit the sand if the feelings are the same.
We got some info about our quarters over there and they do have the internet, only the computers are poor and there are only five of them for everyone at the dam. So, uploading to the blog probably will consist of very few pictures and videos, but, hopefully it’ll work out later on. This is good news though. I might be able to buy a phone card that gives me 10 hours (600 min.) of talk time for $25! So, I’ll have the minutes to talk, unfortunately there’s only a couple of phones in the phone center so it’ll take a long time to use though 600 minutes. But, atleast it means I should be able to call back home every now and then.
I’ve spend sooooo much money in the last few days on gear its getting bad. I mean a lot of money, upwards over $1000. It’ll all get used I’m sure, it just stinks that the Marine Corps couldn’t give us better stuff. The good news is atleast almost all of it is a tax write off. I’m not paying taxes while I’m in country so hopefully I’ll get back more than what I’ve paid in so far this year and when I get back home. Well, I’m gonna get off and eat some food. I’ll try and get back on later tonight and post some more pictures.
Oh, and THE ‘Stache (AKA Ned Flanders) is still on my face. I’ve decided to take him to Iraq and bury him there. A few of the guys said they’d help me put him to rest. It should be good.
