And reason number 587 to be angry…

Yeah, it’s 0258 and I’m on duty right now. I got put on duty because almost everyone went out tonight drinking and they put me on duty because I’m a Christian and they know I don’t drink. They lied to me about why they put me on the list saying “it was my turn” even though when I told them my name isn’t up to be on the duty roster for some time according to our list they just shrugged it off. I asked the corporal in charge a few minutes later if they put me on because I don’t drink and he told me that’s probably the reason why.

It wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t tell me this at 8:36pm and I needed to be awake to get ready at 11:40pm. So, I get about 2 1/2 hours of sleep because I DON’T drink. Yeah, ooh rah Marine Corps. This is the second time this has happened since I’ve been with this unit. Just another reason to be angry. But, God will help me not to be bitter. He has so far, because he’s the only reason I think I haven’t flipped out here yet. If you could, pray for me to get some time to read my Bible. There’s never a quiet moment where I can get some good reading in. I’ve only been able to ready Proverbs because they’re short and pithy and don’t take much time to read.

    Jacob,
    I am sooo sorry!! Those jerks, well don’t louse heart, keep on keeping on! I wish I could say something that would help, but I suppose I’ll just let the Lord do it for me. Since you don’t have time to look verses up, I looked them up for you!!! I sent the bulk of them to your e-mail, but if you don’t have time, hopefully these will encourage you!!

    Isaiah 51:11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

    I Peter 4:12-13
    12: Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
    13: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

    Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

    Galatians 6:7-9
    7: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
    8: For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
    9: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

    hey buddy i can see that your having a little bit of a rough time James puts it really well

    Jam 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
    Jam 1:3 Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
    Jam 1:4 But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

    and in respects to your leader i know everyone has to vent at some time or another and we have an open ear for you but i encourage you to look at the directions of paul to timothy hopefully these verses will help

    1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men;
    1Ti 2:2 For kings, and [for] all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
    1Ti 2:3 For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
    1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

    i will be praying for you buddy and have a good week

  4. I was just searching around about this when I came upon your post. I’m simply dropping by to say that I very much enjoyed reading this post, it’s very well written. Are you thinking of posting more on this? It appears like there is more fodder here for future posts.
